FAQs
What does a coach do and how does it differ from therapy? Coaching focuses on the present and future, guiding you to tap into your strengths, values and inner wisdom so you can take aligned action and grow in the direction you choose. Therapy often focuses more on healing from the past, diagnosing and treating mental health conditions or working through trauma. While therapy helps bring understanding and resolution to where you’ve been, coaching is about consciously creating where you’re going. Both can be incredibly valuable. Coaching is a great fit when you’re ready to grow, shift perspectives and create momentum in your personal or professional life.
How long is a typical session? How many sessions do you recommend?
Each coaching session is 50 minutes and takes place via Zoom, following a complimentary 20-minute consultation where we explore your goals and determine if we’re a good fit to work together. The number of sessions depends on your individual goals and needs. Many clients begin with a 4–12 session series to build momentum and create lasting change, while others choose to continue for ongoing growth and support. Together, we’ll design a coaching plan that feels aligned and sustainable for you.
Are you available nights or weekends? I am happy to accommodate your needs and arrange an evening or weekend session on a day/time that works for both of us, although I generally try to schedule Monday-Friday from 10-1 EST.
